Sign a PDF
Sign a PDF in your browser
Draw your signature, put it on the line, add the date beside it, and download the signed copy — no printer, no scanner. It’s a drawn signature, not a certificate-based digital one.

How it works
Three steps, in your browser
- 1
Upload the document to sign
The agreement, the form, the letter: drop it above and it opens in the editor. No account is needed to sign.
- 2
Draw and place your signature
Choose Sign in the tool rail, draw with your mouse or trackpad, then drag it onto the line and resize it to fit.
- 3
Download the signed PDF
Add the date with the Text tool if the form asks for one, then sign in for free and download the new file.
What signing here does
A drawn signature, on the page
Your strokes are drawn into the PDF you download, where you placed them, at the size you set. Anyone who opens the file sees them.
Not a certificate-based digital signature
It carries no certificate and proves nothing about who drew it. If you were asked for a digital signature, use a service that issues one.
Draw it once
A signature you drew is offered again for the rest of the document. Signed in, you can save up to 5 to your account for other documents — only if you tick the box, and you can delete them at any time. How saved signatures are kept.
Everything else stays as it was
Signing adds to the page. The text, images and layout around the line are left alone, and the file you uploaded is never overwritten.
Common questions
Before you start
Is this a legally valid signature?
That depends on who asked for it and what for, and we can’t answer it for you. What you get is a drawn signature on the page — check with the person or organisation that needs it whether that is what they accept.
My PDF is already digitally signed. Can I add my signature?
You can, but any change to a digitally signed PDF invalidates the digital signature already in it. The editor tells you this and asks before it opens such a file.
Can I sign on my phone?
Editing, signing included, needs a computer’s browser. On a phone you can upload a PDF and download it again, and if you sign in there, the file stays in your account to open on a computer.
Can I type my name instead of drawing it?
There is no typed-signature style. You can add your name as ordinary text with the Text tool, in the font, size and colour you choose.
Do I need an account?
Not to sign: upload and sign straight away. Downloading the signed PDF needs a free account, and so does keeping a signature for next time.
