How to edit an invoice or quote PDF

Correct a client name, due date or figure on an invoice or quote you issued. The edit changes only the words you type; every total that depended on them is still yours to check.

What you need

  • A PDF under 5 MiB (25 MiB on Pro), up to 100 pages
  • A desktop browser (upload and download only on a phone)
  • Text you can select — not a scan
  • A free account, with a confirmed email, to download

The usual corrections

  • Client name, address or reference — fix a typo.
  • Invoice, due or quote-validity date.
  • A quantity, rate or amount — change a number.

Check by hand: the edit updates nothing else

  1. Totals: line total, subtotal, tax and amount due.
  2. Amount in words, and every other copy of the date or reference.
  3. Payment QR code or barcode. It keeps the old amount; a client who scans it pays that. Issue a new invoice from the system that made it instead.
  4. Your books. The source software still has the old values; correct it there too.
