What you need

  • A PDF under 5 MiB (25 MiB on Pro), up to 100 pages
  • A desktop browser (upload and download only on a phone)
  • Text you can select — not a scan
  • A free account, with a confirmed email, to download

Which resumes edit cleanly

  • Usually fine: PDFs saved from Word, Google Docs, Pages or LaTeX, on a plain background.
  • Harder: design apps and resume builders. Text over a photo or gradient is often Overlay only, and a heading turned into a shape cannot be edited.
  • Word-processor resumes show Limited on most blocks: usually one borrowed letter, not a broken edit. Why.

Select a block and the panel shows its grade before you change anything. Edit only your own resume, and only to what is true (acceptable use).

The usual changes

  • An end date — change a date.
  • A job title or company name, about the same length.
  • A phone number, email address or city.
  • A typo — fix a typo.

Check what an applicant system reads

When you export, the old words of an edited block are removed where the editor can tell which ones they were — often, not always. To check:

  1. Open the exported PDF, select all, and paste into a plain text editor.
  2. If an old date or title is still there and it matters, rebuild the resume from its source.
